stained tea.

this is a killer installation.
3000 tea bags dipped in paint.
lives at rolling greens in hollywood.

i bet if you were triple clever,
you could probably make a face appear in the pattern.

but then weirdos would show up and weep on the floor.
so on second thought, let's just leave it the way it is.

from a galaxy not that far away.

star wars has been sweded. (sorta)
(remember when that was a word for 5 minutes? sweded.)
they (the interwebs) did the whole damn thing. all of it.
and it's glorious.

shower of doodles.

great idea. sketchy in execution. (pun both intended and unintended)
this would be like the biggest first page of a new cool sketchbook.
i've got visions of artistic excellence, two lines later it's ruined. magic gone.
i'd rather just buy these already awesome ones.

but if you're brave...

birds-a-plenty

i've been making tons of these little guys lately.
these are made with paper i bought at muji
when we were in soho.
{ooooooh muji. thank you for not being over-styled.}
i keep cutting the paper smaller and smaller
to make the tiniest crane possible.
this one was made out of a piece of paper
about the size of a post-it.
just can't help myself when it comes to tiny things.

have you ever made paper cranes before?
it's mesmerizing. once i get going it's hard to stop.
i'm like ONE MORE>>>just one more...

nature vs. literature.

love this idea from gartenkultur.
green up your place and destroy a book... i mean... display a book.
infinite statements can be made with the placement and plant selection...
like a big cactus growing out of sarah palin's face.

p.s. - is that a darth vader pilgrim on the cover of the fourth book?

carved out by rag and bone.

not all bears in russia dance.

a magical little hollow bear. love his portly stance.
a collaboration between sergey kruk and irina troitskaya.
sergey sculpts and irina paints.
she also deftly handled the snowy little beasts.
so soft and dreamy.

check out the rest of irina's awesome sketchbook here.

entranced at reduced figuration.
