animal instincts.

the twistedly wonderful mind of caitlin hackett
spawns these dark materials.

the scale is amazing.
and her weapons of choice? ballpoint pen and watercolor.
wicked.

you can own them if you like.

invisible mountain.

this kicks so much ass.
in a nice quiet glacial kind of way.
it's just plastic sheeting and black hot glue.
but that's what makes it brilliant.

to the moon, again.

checking in with tom sachs again because he's awesome.
last week he launched a new exhibition in new york.
and in collaboration with nike released a small companion collection.
as always, the beauty is in the work. so go here and read:

just wish i could afford any of the pieces, or visit the show.
also, big credit to nike for continuing to do good work with good people.

bonus: they suggest you could use the table for ping pong.
how secret-agent hideout is that?

summer tone.

i quite like christopher derek bruno's chosen color palette.
that subtle gold sparkle on the wood is the tits.
he's got lots of other nice pieces worth checking out as well.
do yourself a favor and soak on his shapes for a moment.

lost to the sea.

this waterscape is the result of 6 months of constant work.
500,000 fishhooks nailed to plywood by hand.
it's breathtaking.
from artist yoan capote.

just don't rub against it in the gallery.

troof.

i have a feeling these may come in handy. although i'm pretty sure
i can't afford to hand them out to everyone that deserves one.

and you can actually buy them for the low low price of 11 for 12.
from the mind of adam j. kurtz.

building blocks.

john powers [not a fake name]
creates incredible installations from styrofoam.
i love how cleanly the light affects the planes.
it's like seeing inside the matrix, which is always disconcerting.

stained tea.

this is a killer installation.
3000 tea bags dipped in paint.
lives at rolling greens in hollywood.

i bet if you were triple clever,
you could probably make a face appear in the pattern.

but then weirdos would show up and weep on the floor.
so on second thought, let's just leave it the way it is.
